Wet N Wild Lust FOTD

Here’s a look I did the other day using my new Wet N Wild Color Icon Eyeshadow palette in Lust. Hope you enjoy! xoxo

Lancome Dual Finish Powder
YSL Touche Eclat
Dior Coral Riviera blush
MAC Shell Pearl beauty powder

Wet n Wild Lust Palette
Urban Decay 24/7 liner Zero
Cover Girl Lash Blast mascara

YSL ‘Rouge Pure Shine’ Sheer Lipstick #16 Bohemia Rose
YSL Golden Gloss #10 Golden Peony

I used the top four colors in the WnW palette. To recreate this look with MAC, I would use Yogurt on the lid, Fig 1 in the crease, Knight Divine in the outer V, and Vanilla to highlight.

Get your faux tan on!

You’ve all heard it, tanning is bad for you. Nowadays I enjoy a subtle glow with the help of self tanners, but I kind of have to since I’m locked up in an office all day long. Stupid career getting in the way of me going to the beach.

Choosing the right self tanner can be quite a hassle. Too much DHA in the product can make you Orange County orange.  The ones I feature below are some of the highest rated tanners on the web. They contain lower amounts of DHA and/or contain color correcting agents to counteract the orange. Rest assured you wont be looking like an oompa loompa anytime soon.

Clarins Self Tanning Instant Gel– Good for face and body, you can expect full results in 2 hours.

Dior Bronze Self-Tanner Shimmering Glow Body– This is Lauren Conrad’s goto self tanner. Described by her to give her the most real tan around. It also smells really good! Full results in an hour.

St. Tropez Self Tan Bronzing Lotion– Contains color correctors, aloe, and fragrance technology to eliminate the tell-tale self-tan aroma by 70%.

L’Oreal Sunless Sublime Glow Daily Moisturizer– A budget alternative to most tanners. L’Oreal offers a gradual tan while moisturizing.

What’s your favorite self tanner?

MAC Pret-a-Papier Quick Review and FOTD

If I buy stuff, I gotta use it right? This is a quick FOTD using the 4 items I bought from the MAC Pret-a-Papier collection. What I love about this collection is the wearability of it. Wearability equals value to moi! Wearability also means a pretty tame FOTD as well 😉

Tissue Weight is a pinker version of Naked Lunch. It really just blends in with my skin tone. If you have Naked Lunch, I’d go ahead and skip this eyeshadow. Gazette Grey is also not a must have but it’s a nice neutral color to put in the crease. I read that this shadow didn’t blend easily but that’s not the case. Using a MAC 224 brush you can get this sucker blended. I can see this being used to compliment or blend out a purple eyeshadow such as Memorabilia.

This picture shows the chromagraphic pencil on the waterline. I love how less harsh it looks than if I’d used white on the waterline. It also lasts the entire day! This is my favorite product in this collection. You can also use this pencil to conceal and define. I’m definitely getting a backup of this since I’ve been using this pencil everyday since I bought it.

Instant Chic blush is pretty in the pan and pretty on the face. It’s not a must have blush but if you need a corally blush then get it. It’s a sheertone but definitely well pigmented.

I think I need to go back and get Memorabilia. It’s so pigmented and pretty but I have a zillion purple eyeshadows. What did you get from this collection? Let me know in the comments!

Review: DiorShow Iconic Mascara

I must start off saying, I love this mascara. I picked up my first tube of it not really thinking i’d find something better than my fav YSL Faux Cils but I did. Dare I say this is my holy grail mascara? Heck yeah it is!

Quick take: Dark, long, defined lashes. With everyday use, a tube will last you over 2 months. A+

DiorShow Iconic promises- A mascara with an innovative oblique brush that curls and defines lashes. With its long, skinny teeth, the plastic comb brush allows you to precisely coat each lash one-by-one-creating a long, separated fan of lashes that usually takes the skill of a makeup artist. The extra-hold formula provides a 24-hour-curl with 100% smudge-proof results.

What I liked: Not only did it perform like the package said it would, my lashes looked noticeably longer. I occasionally get asked if I’m wearing false lashes when I use this mascara! I love that this mascara never flakes or smudges, and even looks the same hours after you applied it. I don’t need to curl my lashes, the formula and brush do the curling for me. Best of all, I don’t feel like I’m wasting my money since a tube lasts for months with everyday use.

No likey: To hold the curl, the mascara gets a little stiff. Taking it off takes a little effort but it’s nothing a good makeup remover can’t remove.

No Mascara

2 coats of DiorShow Iconic, I did not curl my lashes

I’d buy this mascara over and over again. One coat of mascara looks nice and natural but two or more and you’ve got some drama! Although it costs $27, you get your moneys worth since it doesn’t dry out in a week like some other brands do.

March Favorites

It’s time for my March Favorites! These are items I couldn’t get enough of in the month of March. Apparently, I was really into corals, go me! As always, click on the picture to make it larger.

Dior Bronze Harmonie de Blush in Coral Riviera 002- it’s described as “tawny corals” on Sephora’s site. This is a HG blush for me. It gives a glow to my cheeks when I use the colors together, and in a pinch I can use the middle bronze color to contour and add warmth to my face. Love this mofo.

MAC’s Shell Pearl Beauty Powder– I put down my MAC MSF Candlelight in March in favor of Liberty of London’s Shell Pearl. I love the soft pearly cheek highlight it gave me, especially since it had staying power. Since it’s a beauty powder, you can also wear it as a blush, but I have yet to do that.

MAC’s Birds & Berries Eyeshadow– I’m a sucker for teal eyeshadow. This one came out as a limited edition with the Liberty of London collection for MAC. This color is so versatile. I used it all over my lid, in the crease, with purples, greys, taupes, browns, pinks, etc.

MAC’s Cha Cha Lipglass– Hello pretty lippie. Cha Cha is a medium pink with gold pearl from the Spring Color Forecast collection (looks coralish).

Milani Liquif’Eye Eye Liner Pencil in brown- I reviewed this liner and am still in love with it. I’ve ventured back to Target a few times looking for black but was always sold out.

What products did you love in March? Let me know in the comments!
